Elizabeth sledding

What do you do in cold minnesota?  You sled (or “slaad”) as Elizabeth would say.  We tried twice with her – first time with Art she freaked out as some snow got on her face.  The second time with Sara and Tim (her friends from next door) things went much smoother.  As a side note, the video skills on display here are Ali’s (first video) and Alynn’s (second)

Elizabeth’s imagination is blossoming.  Every day she is telling us stories about her imaginary doggies, and kitty-cats, her babies are innumerable.  The names of said things change day to day; most often these names are unorthodox – kuji, mitchi, lupi, and sometimes its the people we know and love….e.g. willem.

We often take Elizabeth swimming.  Well, I should clarify this some.  Swimming for Elizabeth means sitting in the hot tub and watching other kids.  And when we finally convince her to go to the pool, she typically will play on the steps of the pool.  So, our idea was to get some props for her to make the experience more interesting and exciting.  This is Elizabeth practicing swimming.

som·er·sault also sum·mer·sault n.

1. An acrobatic stunt in which the body rolls forward or backward in a complete revolution with the knees bent and the feet coming over the head. Also called somerset; also called regionally tumbleset.
Check out our own improved version of the somersault.  Elizabeth is quite the gymnast but she is more proud of teaching her babies.  What can we say, she is her mother’s daughter.

Elizabeth is so into big girl things.  She loves her purses, shoes, jewelry and all things considered “big girl”.  She was recently caught preparing for a trip, here’s what she had to say.

Playing in the rain

Remember the age when being out in the rain was fun?  This is Elizabeth now.  She doesn’t care if its raining, snowing, steaming hot, humid or whatever.   Oh yeah, and that squirt bottle is a 10 cent favorite toy.  Why do we ever buy the expensive educational toys when plastic bags, squirt bottles, old cell phones make the best toys.

Every once in a while Elizabeth will want from the bottom of her toy box- no.. umm… basket (of course)  Please note the high quality of her toy basket.  What happens … well you shall see.  In this case it was her phone that she was searching for- enjoy!

She talked!  I swear she said what we thought she said.  For some time now we’ve thought she said what we thought she said, but she said something different.  But this time, she definitely said what we thought she said.  Check it out

Elizabeth loved the sand so we thought what the heck….. lets try it!  We went outside and collected snow (just not the yellow stuff) and she really liked it.  I am sure it is better than most meals I make :)
